Not since the second world war have we as a nation had to face such upheaval and worry. We are once again at war but this time with a hidden enemy that can only be defeated with discipline, compassion, caring, science and our inner army of immune cells.
Most of us won't be able to offer the scientific answers, but we can engage ourselves in becoming disciplined in our cleanliness (especially our hands). We can be compassionate and caring to others who are going through this with us (especially the elderly, those with health issues and those who are less able to provide for themselves). There is something else we can do from a Tai Chi and Qigong perspective to boost the Qi of our immune system and that is 'Train'. We should up our levels of Tai Chi and Qigong training by practising Huxi Qigong (Breathing Training) outdoors daily (subject to our British weather). This will generate our 'Guardian Qi' which is according to the ancient Chinese masters "Wards off all external evils". These 'Evils' as they call them include cold and flu viruses that find it difficult to penetrate our immune cell - energise 'Guardian Qi' and therefore it is here in this discipline that we at China Bridge Tai Chi can offer some help.
